The Congaree Foundation, a philanthropic organization tied to the Congaree Golf Club, strives to positively impact the lives of young people through the game of golf. Its signature program, the Congaree Global Golf Initiative (CGGI), was established in 2017 to provide high school students from around the world the opportunity to receive golf coaching and college preparatory resources. The CGGI also offers long-term mentorship opportunities, walking alongside these students for the next ten years (until 2036)!
Taylor and Walker are part of the program’s largest class to date, with 80 students selected from 17 U.S. states and 16 countries this year.
Taylor, a rising junior at Haleyville High School, has competed in both AGA and JGA events, earning top-five finishes in multiple JGA tournaments and placing in the top 10 at the AHSAA State Golf Tournament each of the past three years. His best finish at the AHSAA came this spring, where he placed runner-up in the Class 4A Boys Division.
Walker, a rising senior at Spanish Fort High School, has competed in numerous AGA and JGA events, recording several runner-up finishes in JGA tournaments and a top-25 finish at the Boys State Junior Championship and a top-50 finish in the Alabama State Amateur in 2025. He also earned a top-five finish at the 2025 AHSAA State Golf Tournament.
This weeklong immersive experience includes instruction from PGA professionals, college recruiting guidance and access to world-class training facilities at Congaree Golf Club.

Established in 2022, Junior Golf Alabama (JGA) is a joint initiative by the Alabama Golf Association and the Alabama-NW Florida PGA Section to serve as a collaboration focused on junior golf for kids, parents, coaches, golf administrators, and PGA Professionals. JGA streamlines the junior golf roadmap while bridging existing programs to further the development of junior golf in Alabama and NW Florida.
