Final Results of the Burningtree Junior Amateur

After the first round of play on Wednesday, May 28th, the Burningtree Junior Amateur was shortened to a one-day event due to weather and unfit course conditions.

Liam Hooton of Harvest, AL and Cain Armistead of Hartselle, AL each carded even 72 after round 1 to stand tied for first in the Boys 14-18 Division. After a scorecard playoff, Hooton took first place and Armistead placed second. 

Ben Wetta of Vestavia, AL finished one-over 73 to stand in third for the division. 

In the Girls 14-18 Age Division, Elizabeth Haughery of Vestavia, AL finished the tournament with an overall score of 16-over 88 to claim victory. Laney Gough of Athens, AL was named runner-up finishing three-shots behind Haughery.
Timothy Baker of Hoover, AL was crowned champion of the Boys 12-13 Age Division carding an overall score of 33-over 105. 

In the Girls 12-13 Age Division, Kennedy Cox of Hoover, AL finished in first with a score of thirty-nine-over 111. Sofia Linares of Madison, AL carded a 124 to finish second. 

Tucker Cole of Huntsville, AL claimed the title in the Boys 9-11 Age Division with an overall tournament total of 85, thirteen-over par. Oliver Berry of Athens, AL claimed second with a score of fourteen-over 86. 

Tristan Cook of Birmingham, AL was victorious in the Boys 9-11 (9-Hole) Age Division with an impressive 9-hole score of three-over par 39. Taylor Price of Vestavia Hills, AL placed second with a score of six-over par 42. 

In the Girls 9-11 (9-Hole) Age Division, to defend her title, Mackenzie Brown of Mobile, AL posted an overall score of one-over 37 to be named champion of this division. Nayeli Lane of Ashville, AL was named runner-up in this division and Anne Collins Gourgeot of Decatur, AL secured third. 

Cayse Ackerman of Kimberly, AL earned gold in the Boys 6-8 Division with a 9-hole score of even 36 to claim back-to-back titles (Male and Female 6-8 Age Divisions play a total of 18 holes, 9 each day). John Collins Cease of Mountain Brook, AL took home silver in this division carding five-over 41 and John Isaiah Baker of Hoover, AL took home bronze with an overall score of eight-over 44. 

In the Girls 6-8 Age Division, Adelyn Duncan of Wetumpka, AL finished in first with a front-nine score of 61 and Elliott Willis of Birmingham, AL finished as the runner-up with a score of 68.
