Final Results of the Burningtree Junior Amateur

DECATUR, AL – (May 23, 2024) Final results of the Burningtree Junior Amateur held at Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, Alabama, May 22-23, 2024.

Within the Boys 14-18 Division, Connor Hooper of Scottsboro claimed victory, carding a final round score of two-under par 70. He finished the tournament two-under 142, overall. 

Bram Upchurch of Homewood and Cain Armistead of Hartselle each posted overall scores of nine-over par 153. After a scorecard playoff, Upchurch was secured silver and Armistead was named third. 

Julie Waldo of Prattville took home the title in the Girls 14-18 Age Division, carding a 36-hole total of three-over par 147. Claiming silver, Hannah Hall of Hartselle posted a 197 overall. 
Grady Rutledge of Huntsville took home the title in the Boys 12-13 Age Division, carding a 72 for round two and 146 overall for the tournament. Czigan Flurry of Mountain Brook claimed silver with a 36-hole score of 163. Jack Dolan of Florence posted 181 overall to finish third.

In the Boys 9-11 Age Division, Lane Barker of Vestavia secured victory with a final round score of three-over par 75. He finished the tournament at 156 overall. 

After a scorecard playoff, Emmett McClary of Athens was named runner-up in the Boys 9-11 Division and Troy Elmore of Valley Head took bronze. They each finished the tournament at 163 overall. 

In the Girls 9-11 (9-Hole) Age Division, Kennedy Cox of Hoover was crowned champion, posting a final round back-nine score of 51.

Landon Cunningham of Huntsville finished the tournament with an impressive overall score of three-under par 69 to claim first place in the Boys 9-11 (9-Hole) Age Division. Emmett Franklin of Pelham earned silver with an 18-hole total of 76 and Oliver Berry of Athens claimed bronze with an overall score of 77. 

In the Boys 6-8 Division, Tristan Cook of Birmingham took home gold with an 18-hole total of 84 (6-8 Age Divisions play a total of 18 holes, 9 each day). Taylor Price of Vestavia Hills earned silver, posting an overall tournament total of 89. John Isaiah Baker of Hoover claimed bronze.

The 2024 JGA Tour continues with its third event of the year, the Goose Pond Junior Amateur hosted by Goose Pond Colony Resort - Lake Course in Scottsboro, AL in June.
