Final Results of the Burningtree Junior Amateur

DECATUR, AL – (May 25, 2023) Final results of the Burningtree Junior Amateur held at Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, Alabama, May 24-25, 2023.

Within the Boys 14-18 Age Division, Jake Monk of Hoover, AL and Liam Kilfoyle of Mountain Brook, AL were in close competition through both days of the tournament. Both players carded a 36-hole score of 146. 
 
After a scorecard playoff, Monk claimed victory within the Boys 14-18 Age Division. He made birdie nine times during the tournament. With his previous victory at the Birmingham City Junior Amateur, Monk now holds two JGA Tour titles.
 
Kilfoyle stands in second place. Samuel Holmes of Decatur, AL secured bronze within the Boys 14-18 Age Division with a total 153 for the tournament.
 
Julie Waldo of Prattville, AL earned gold within the Girls 14-18 Age Division with a total score of 151. Elizabeth Haughery of Vestavia Hills claimed second with a 36-hole total of 181. In third place, Rilee Hilliker carded a total 184.
 
Liam Hooton of Harvest, AL electrified the field within the Boys 12-13 Age Division, carding a 71 for round one and 145 for the tournament. Cooper Waldo of Prattville, AL claimed silver with a 36-hole score of 161. Dee Tully of Guntersville posted 169 total.
 
Grady Rutledge of Huntsville, AL earned gold within the Boys 9-11 Age Division with a 36-hole total score of 164. Claiming silver, Troy Elmore posted a 179 overall.
 
Competition was fierce within the Boys 6-8 Age Division. After a scorecard playoff, Landon Cunningham earned gold with an 18-hole gross total of 83 (6-8 Age Divisions play a total of 18 holes, 9 each day). Oliver Berry, second place medalist, also posted a total 83. Parker Perkins of Tuscaloosa, AL claimed bronze with a total score of 90.

The 2023 JGA Tour continues with its fourth event of the year, the Lake Martin Junior Amateur hosted by Willow Point Golf and Country Club in Alexander City, AL in June.
